Comings and Goings

RUGO's trustees were pleased to welcome as special guests to their meeting in September 2001 Graeme Loten, the outgoing British Ambassador to Rwanda, Dennis Karera, the Assistant Police Commissioner for Rwanda, and Major General Kayumba, the Chief of Staff for the Rwandan army.

The meeting welcomed Major General Kayumba who is embarking on a course at the college of Military Science for the British Army, and said goodbye to Dennis who was returning to Rwanda after successfully completing a course at Bramshill Police Training College.

Members at the meeting also wished Graeme Loten well in his new overseas assignment for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and thanked him for his time in Rwanda. Graeme reaffirmed his commitment to RUGO by renewing his membership and Dennis promised to support wherever he is able on his return to Rwanda.

The trustees also expressed their wishes of support to Sue Hogwood who has been appointed as the new British Ambassador to Rwanda.
