RUGO member in Cardiff, Marina Monios, decided to organise a fun fund raising event for RUGO. The event was titled "Be a Star for a Night" at Marina's Bash and Support Rwanda. Guests of honour at the event were Member of Parliament Anne Clwyd and Rosemary Museminali the Rwandan Ambassador. Anne Clwyd was a member of the Select Committee on Overseas Development that visited Rwanda in April 1998.
Participants to the event were invited to dress in a Hollywood Character of their choosing and the prize for the best dressed character went to Snow White.
Anne Clwyd gave a short address on her experiences in Rwanda and the Ambassador thanked all the people that attended for their support to Rwanda and welcomed all as members of her "family" in Cardiff. The evening raised almost £1,000 towards RUGO's work in Rwanda.
