And it was special, this year they had the
pleasure of hosting ‘Vocality’ a community based choir from
Esher, Surrey. This 50 strong local choir,
who have thrilled audiences with their eclectic repertoire, including
African music, generously agreed to perform at Steve and Linda’s open
garden on Sunday 15th June. The
garden was open from 2.00-6.00pm and Vocality performed twice, at 3.00 and
4.30pm.
The ‘field’ at the bottom of the garden
will accommodated a seated audience of around 200. Which was fully occupied
for both performances.
As usual, teas were available and a wide selection of
plants available for sale. In addition, members of RUGO, and of the Rwandan
diaspora living in UK, were
present at an information stand and happy, as always, to talk to people
about RUGO activities or Rwanda
in general. The magnificent global award winning Rwanda
Sovu Golden Cup Coffee from Union Roasters was also on sale.
Linda and Steve Wells and RUGO gratefully thanks
everyone who attended this event which raised over £4775 towards RUGO
funds.

We were also pleased to launch the new RUGO website which also
went live on 15th June.
