CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE |

|
We are writing to thank all of the
supporters of RUGO who have helped us in our work for Rwanda over the past
eleven years and to welcome you to the RUGO web site. From our initial beginnings in April
1997 when a group of supporters met to start the design of RUGO, we
officially launched in July 1997and attained charity status in 1999. In the UK we have organized fundraising
events and programmes, social functions, cultural evenings and importantly
Memorial services on the anniversary of the Genocide, attended by many
members of the Rwandan community in UK and UK supporters. On the ground
in Rwanda achievements include: the establishment of a Technical School in
Nyamata in partnership with the Government of Rwanda, the building of a
church and community centre in Kayonza in partnership with the local
community, together with the ongoing build of a primary school in Kayonza and
very many other support activities to help education, training and community
based projects for people in Rwanda. With specific
reference to ETO Nyamata We are very grateful for all the hard work put in by
Nick Arnett during his two years as Director of the school. During his time
Nick was able to put all the tools and equipment donated by RUGO to good use
and to open the school as a practically based training institution. We wish
Nick all the best for the future and would like to draw your attention to the
request on the ETO Nyamata Page of this site to find a replacement Director
of ETO Nyamata. For the future We look forward to continuing support to our
ongoing projects such as ETO Nyamata, Kayonza Primary school land the
sourcing of tools, equipment and resources to schools and institutions in
Rwanda through the continued partnership with Tools With A Mission (TWAM). We
also look forward to the establishment of community-based projects, such as
clean drinking water, rainwater harvesting schemes etc. |

We appeal to your continued generosity
to support the work of RUGO and to please continue to give through either
financial donations or donations through your time and expertise. With many thanks once again for all
your help and support and hope you find the web site informative and provides
a useful background on the work of RUGO. Any suggestions for improvement are
